About Coffee... There are many different types of coffee beans, from Ugandan Peaberry to Mocha Java. The geographic origin of the bean determines the flavor of the coffee. Different climates yield dramatically different tastes. You probably knew that already... But did you know there are different grades of beans? Most beans end up as "robusta". Only about five percent are graded as "arabica". Of that five percent, our roaster selects only the top two percent as good enough for Steamworks' discerning clientele. About Tea... Most of what Americans think of as tea isn't tea at all. Tea refers to a specific family of plants, available in either black or green varieties. The drinks made by steeping the leaves of these plants in hot (not boiling) water has almost 3 times the amount of caffeine as coffee! Herbal Infusions are often called teas because of the similar method of preparation. In fact, most do not contain any tea at all. Because of this, Herbal Infusions are usually caffeine-free.
